We found Miriam, recently at the local temple. She was using a walker and has health issues. She told us that her water pipes in her mobile home were leaking water, ruined her bathroom floor, and the management wanted to evict her because of it. Miriam called various contractors, but they wanted at least $10,000.00 to fix everything, and she is on an extremely low fixed income so could not fix anything. She tried calling every public assistance organization, but none would help. The management was trying to force her out. The floor was ready to cave in and the mobile home was uninhabitable at that point. Debbie, quickly went into action, and obtained two good willed volunteer handymen who managed to fix everything for $400.00 instead, which included supplies. The bathroom floor is now safe to walk on, and there is no more water flooding and damaging the property. Miriam is still living in her mobile home. The management decided that she could stay, as she desired. We are proud to be of assistance.
